Your Information

Privacy Policy

Effective July 4, 2026

This policy explains how PinVault handles information when you use our pin collection service.

Information we collect

We collect account information such as your email address and display name; collection information such as pin details, photographs, values, wants, trades, boards, and verified sales; and basic technical information needed to secure and operate the service.

How we use information

We use this information to provide your account and collection, process photographs, suggest pin details through automatic image analysis, retrieve relevant marketplace listings, calculate collection estimates, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and improve PinVault.

Product analytics

PinVault records limited first-party events such as page visits, completed signups, scans, imports, and checkout starts. We use a random browser identifier rather than storing event-level IP addresses, and we do not place pin names, photographs, searches, messages, or discussion text in analytics events.

Service providers

PinVault uses service providers to operate the product, including Supabase for authentication, database, and photo storage; Render for application hosting; OpenAI for automatic pin photo analysis; eBay APIs for marketplace listing data; and Resend for optional notification emails. Those providers process information according to their own terms and privacy practices.

Sharing and sales

We do not sell your personal information. We share information with service providers only as needed to operate the product, comply with law, protect users, or complete a business transfer.

Community trade lists

Trade profiles are private unless you choose to publish yours. When enabled, your display name, collector note, and pins marked for trade are visible to other signed-in collectors. Your email address is not shown. Trade inquiries are visible only to the sender and recipient.

Community discussions

Discussion topics and replies are visible to signed-in collectors together with your display name. Reports you submit are private operational records used to review community safety concerns. Do not include contact details or other sensitive information in public posts.

Email notifications

Trade and discussion emails are optional and off by default. When enabled, your email address and the notification content are sent to our email delivery provider. You can disable either alert type from your account controls.

Retention and control

We retain account information while your account is active and as reasonably needed for security, legal, and operational purposes. You can export your collection or permanently delete your account and stored collection from the account controls.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including private photo storage and authenticated access. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Children

PinVault is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the latest version.
